The Merrow 70-Y3B-2 industrial sewing machine from Merrow is the only sewing machine for butted seaming with a STITCH MULTIPLIER built into the sewing head. The machine sews a 5/8” stitch. The stitch count can be doubled while the operator is sewing and is effective for processing loose weaves to higher densities fabrics.
The Stitch Multiplier is a lever on the front of the machine that can be pressed to double the number of stitches sewn.
The 70-Y3B-2 is the only butted seam sewing machine that has a STITCH MULTIPLIER built into the sewing head. Wide seams of joined fabric are weak at the edges (the selvages) and the 70-Y3B-2 addresses this by DOUBLING THE STITCH COUNT on demand to add strength to seams - when and where it’s needed. To double the stitch count, the operator simply presses the 70-Y3B-2’s STITCH MULTIPLIER LEVER while material is being sewn. view the video
The 70-Y3B-2 uses a NON-DIFFERENTIAL FEED ECCENTRIC which allows the stitch count to be doubled even though the material being sewn is fed through the machine at a uniform speed. To activate the feed eccentric, the operator simply presses the STITCH MULTIPLYING LEVER located in front of the work plate.
The 70-Y3B-2 is ideal for applications where swaths of WIDE FABRIC are being joined. Wide can mean weak AT THE SELVAGES, but not when the 70-Y3B-2 is used. The same goes for processing LOOSE WEAVES or HIGHER DENSITY FABRICS. In fact, the 70-Y3B-2 should be used for any application that requires that strength be added to a seam on demand.
